Hello all,

I was one of the organizers of CityCamp Colorado on December 4th. It was a
great day and hopefully we will have more information about the camp and
what we discussed on our website, http://citycampco.govfresh.com, shortly.

One product that started and continues out of the camp is the creation of a
model local open government directive. Kevin Curry, CityCamp founder,
Alissa Black, City Program Director with Code for America, Scott Primeau,
another CityCamp Colorado organizer, and I started drafting a model
directive at the camp. We intend this document to be a template that
localities can use to get executive and leadership approve/sanction of open
government efforts.

I am writing to solicit help for this community to review and comment on our
draft. These comments and ideas will do two things: 1) help improve our
work product; and 2) help in the drafting of an official comment and
explanation document that will supplement the model directive.

If you are interested in participating, please reply or e-mail me at
brian.gryth at opencolorado.org. If you volunteer, I will share the Google Doc
we are using for this effort.

Our aim is to publish the model directive and supporting documentation by
January 1. Once published or near the publication date, I will let
everyone know where to find the directive and more information.

Thanks,
Brian Gryth
