Hi all,

It seems like we should decide what the plan is in terms of next releases.
We almost certainly need a patch release soon to deal with recent security
and datastore related issues, but we could also consider a 2.8 release.

The original plan was for 2.8 to remove things like the REST API, the
revisions controller, etc, and this where originally deprecated when 2.7
was released in August 2017 (they are mentioned in the CHANGELOG [1]). Also
we wanted to include as much as possible of the Flask migration in it. For
a number of reasons progress has been slow on both these fronts, so it
would be good to reassess what are the options.

It would be great if we could sync and discuss this together in tomorrow's
dev meeting (Thu 14:00 UTC https://www.google.es/search?q=2pm+utc)

I'm extending the invitation to the steering group members in case they
want to be in the loop, and because while the tech team will recommend the
best way forward, to implement it we'll have to look at resourcing and
availability.

Hope to talk to you all tomorrow

Adrià
