[ckan-committers] SG members in GitHub org

Heya David,

I might be able to answer, in part, from one perspective :)

I don’t think this was a direct request from the steering group. Although,
I was chasing up something to help a group get listed on instances.ckan.org
and in a round about kind of way this may have contributed to SG folk
gaining some additional access to GitHub.

Generally, Paul took over the chair role of the steering group before Xmas
and, from the few things he has contributed to since, has been more open to
liberating ‘stuff’ related to the CKAN project which had previously been
held behind the admin curtain of OKI. I read this latest change as one
example.

I’m not aware of any SG influence being requested or asserted over the
technical side of the project. And, for my vote, I’m very happy with that
remaining within the domain of the tech team. Also, very keen for such to
remain there ;)

I missed the last SG call, so may also be out of the loop a bit on the
GitHub admin additions. I’m happy to join the next tech team call if folks
want to raise and talk through any concerns there.
