Hi Marc,

Yes, as you found out:

1) The packaged CKAN isn't supported on anything other than Ubuntu 10.04 
LTS (32bit or 64bit)
2) You need to do some extra configuration after CKAN is installed to 
begin to explore it.

For anyone else following, there are some instructions here from the 
Berlin workshop

I'm currently working on a new packaging approach to make installing 
extensions easier.
