I don't think so, no. I think you should try following the solr setup
procedure from the source-install instructions:
http://docs.ckan.org/en/latest/solr-setup.html#single-solr-instance
It tells you to replace solr's schema.xml file with a symlink to the
schema file inside your ckan source install.
