". pyenv/bin/activate" is the right command assuming that
pyenv/bin/activate is the correct path to your virtualenv from your
shell's current working directory. I'm assuming it is because you should
have got a 'no such file or directory' error if not. If your virtualenv
is active you should see the name of the virtualenv somewhere in your
shell prompt, e.g:
(pyenv) $ _
You seem to be getting an error message from pip when installing
pyutilib.component.core. That's suspicious.
Is there any chance you could drop in to the #ckan channel on
irc.freenode.net and chat real-time? I'm running out of ideas for what's
wrong with your setup
