Ok, I've merged 1.6.1 into 1.7, as was done before. I'll let Adria
choose which bits to pick up for 1.7.

I'd also suggest taking the fixes for AlphabetPager since
http://thedatahub.org/tag suggests there are no tags beginning with D
etc.
