A workshop on Monday to discuss the use of CKAN for Research Data
Management was unexpectedly popular - all the places were full, with
over 40 people from a wide range of universities and institutions.
Thanks to the presenters and especially Joss Winn, who organised the
event, and Simon Hodson of Jisc, for hosting it.

Patrick McCann of the DCC has just written an excellent account of the day here:

(You can also find some tweets with the hashtag #ckan4rdm.) A large
part of the day was taken up with a requirements gathering exercise -
what people need in a tool for RDM. Joss is preparing a post about the
results of that and the next steps. In the meantime there is a new
mailing list specifically for discussing CKAN for RDM - feel free to
sign up:

We hope that a community of RDM CKAN users, potential users and
contributors will coalesce round this list to exchange ideas,
establish requirements, contribute extensions, etc.
