Nigel,

I succeeded in getting CKAN 2.0 installed using your new instructions and a fresh instance of RHEL 6. So, no need to try and sleuth out what went wrong (as described in the prior emails). I did have two problem with the instructions, which I will document here in case you want to update the docs:

1) In Section 2 this step did not work for me:

“pip install –ignore-installed –e git+https://github.com/okfn/ckan.git@ckan-2.0#egg=ckan”

Not sure if it was local firewall issues, or what. But I ended up having to download the .zip file locally and then point the pip install to the directory rather than the web version.

2) In section 6, I think this command:
“paster db init –c /etc/ckan/default/production.ini”
Needs to be:
“paster plugin=ckan db init /etc/decault/production.ini”

Now on to trying to get the geospatial plugin the datastore functional.

Thanks again for the assistance and the product. I look forward to getting it into production.
