[ckan-dev] Missing steps in deployment guide?

Hello all,

I followed the guide to deploy a source install found here:
http://ckan.readthedocs.org/en/latest/maintaining/installing/deployment.html

However, after finishing, I kept getting a 403 error from Apache. The CKAN
error log file had lines like the this:

[Tue Jun 10 16:34:35.827120 2014] [authz_core:error] [pid 21128:tid
140283320706816] [client 127.0.0.1:59070] AH01630: client denied by server
configuration: /etc/ckan/default/apache.wsgi

I solved the problem thanks to this SO answer:
http://stackoverflow.com/a/13923526

Also, ckan_default file in sites-available folder wasn't detected by
Apache, it had to be renamed to ckan_default.conf.

I deployed CKAN in Ubuntu 14.04, so perhaps these problems were caused by
the Apache version (2.4.7 in 14.04, not sure of the version in 12.04).

Anyway, I'm not sure if this steps are missing in the deployment guide, or
at least they might be useful for someone.

Regards,

Rodrigo
