[ckan-dev] CKAN Service Provider status?

Hello,

If I want to implement some background tasks in CKAN, is the best 
approach to implement a separate service based on the CKAN service 
provider [1], in the same way DataPusher does?

I see that the CKAN Service Provider is marked as "work in progress" - 
though if it's used for the DataPusher I assume it's sufficiently stable?
