[ckan-dev] pdf_preview problem

Hi All,
Upgrading CKAN from 2.1 to 2.1.2 fixed the problem of previewing pdf files.

My mistake. It works on my CKAN 2.2 instance but not on my CKAN 2.1 instance.

I guess there is a problem with your CKAN configuration, because I did the intallation of CKAN 2.2 several time on several machine now, and I have never had that problem. Maybe it would help if you can describe what you have done to install and configure CKAN.

Pabitra, you are right resource_proxy it's not needed for previewing local file. 
Have you tried different pdf files? Have you tried to upload the file on demo.ckan.org to see if it works? 

Are you sure you don't get any error in the log files?

Local resource I mean the pdf file is on the local disk of the ckan web server. Yes I have used the ckan.plugins in the ini file to enabled the pdf_preview. I have 2 instances of CKAN one running on 2.1 and the other one on 2.2. In both cases the pdf preview is not working for me.

What do you mean my local resources here? If you're on 2.2 and above, the name of the extension you should enter for ckan.plugins line is pdf_preview.

It sounds strange to me, on my experience it should work. Also, I don't get why you don't have any error messages. Sometimes I get the dark grey view but it is because the resource is too big for the proxy and I get a message that tells me that or other kind of errors.
