[ckan-dev] html-forms for subsetting a dataset (filtering repositories)

Hi!

x) my problem:
I have got a couple of different data repositories (as datasets), each
with legacy access tools.
Nobody wants the whole large repository, just a subset.

x) my reasoning:
The best solution would be that specific repositories would have
specific html-forms that filter data within CKAN and feed back the
filtrate.

The second best would be that instead of uploading the dataset, just
a link to an external html-form that that filters data in a CGI-style
according to filled in criteria is uploaded.

has anybody solved a similar problem?
any help would be much appreciated
