[ckan-dev] updating SOLR 1.3 to 4.x

Does anyone have experience in upgrading 1.3 to a later version of SOLR?  I
understand you have to download the tar file as it's not part of the Ubuntu
installer.  However, beyond that, I tried to follow the directions posted
on this site

however, I'm having trouble accommodating that to the CKAN environment.
Would anyone be able to help me or point me in the right direction?
