[ckan-dev] Upgrade from CKAN 2.1.2 to 2.3

Tonny,

I just did a source upgrade from 2.1.1 to 2.3 and it went pretty smoothly.  Here are the quicko notes I made for a few team members documenting a few minor issues I had:

1)      Problem with new metadata-Modified field.  Documented here:

I fixed it by manually running the sql script pointed to in that help file.  But lines 47-55 still failed.  Hopefully not a problem as the site still seems to work.

2)      Needed to change link to Solr schema to point to new generic schema.xml name

3)      Spatial extensions needed new library that needed to be manually added, and needed the whole extension upgraded from github.

4)      Our extension’s templates looked like crud after upgrade.   I have yet to go in and fix the layout problems.

5)      Our extension had some problems with authorization functions I had overridden.  I had redefined user_show and user_list so that unauthenticated users could not see people’s profiles or the list of registered users.  Something in how I did it was not compatible with 2.3, but I have yet to debug.

I am going to be rolling our devel server where I did the test upgrade back from 2.3 to 2.1 this afternoon (we had taken a VMware snapshot beforehand).  I am then going to attempt a new fresh upgrade next Monday morning (trying to fix the issue with #1 above).

I am not sure how relevant any of this is to you if you are doing a package update, but though I would share.  Good luck!

Are there any issues with upgrading ckan db, filestore, datastore from CKAN 2.1.2 to CKAN 2.3?
