[ckan-dev] Tech partner discussions

Hiya folks,

As one of the four people currently in the CKAN Association steering group
I'm interested in exploring relationships with other commercial and FOSS
partners which advance our own project here within the CKAN community.

I also run my own company here in Canberra, Australia, which has had a
slowly growing focus and specialization around CKAN development, support
and hosting. It is through this Canberra business, Link Digital, that I'll
be in USA as part of a trade mission supported by ACT Government.

I'll be in San Francisco on the 4th to 6th of October and then in Las Vegas
from the 7th to 10th. The Vegas part is largely about AWS as that is when
re:invent is running. During the SF part I'm interested in meeting with
potential CKAN project sponsors, collaborators and technical partners.

I have two questions to this group in relation to all this. What types
of organisations or tech partners would you like to see have a stronger
relationship with the CKAN project? And, do you have any good contacts to
pass through so I can start getting an agenda together?

I'm running a CKAN meetup in Sydney on the 4th of September that should
involve most of the active CKAN devs here in Australia. I was thinking of
doing one in SOMA, SF for October too. That would be a great way to
introduce our project to people interested in helping out. Are there a few
people on this list able to help with a SF meetup?  I'll also find an
active FOSS meetup groups in the area and see if I can get in to present
CKAN via a few of those.
