[ckan-dev] Tag length and valid name

I saw that the name column in tag has type ' character varying(100)'. Couldn't it be 'text' instead (in postgres)?

Hello!
Are there any good reasons that the tags only can be 100 characters long and that they only can contain alphanumeric characters or symbols  -_. ?
Can I in some way override the tag_length_validator and tag_name_validator in validators.py?
