[ckan-dev] extension update problem

Hello All,
I made some changes to the plugin.py of my extension. Then I copied that file to our production server. Restarted the apache server. However, I am not seeing the changes I made in my plugin.py when I browse to the site. I can see a new plugin.pyc has not been generated. Is that the problem?  Do I have to run 'python setup.py develop' from the extension path on the production server?
