[ckan-dev] ckan IDatasetForm custom fields of data type other than string.

I have extended the package schema using IDatasetForm.
It looks like convert_to_extras makes the custom fields as strings.
Is there any way to store these custom fields as other data types (such as,
double or integer, date)?
