[ckan-dev] Publishing packages on pypi

Hello,

I'm new to CKAN development. I'm noticing that some CKAN packages are
versioned on pypi (ckan), some versioned but not on pypi (ckanext-harvest),
and some are neither versioned nor on pypi (ckanext-spatial). Is there any
reason for this? I'm trying to upgrade extensions for our instance and
finding it difficult to a) determine version compatibility between
extensions and b) find "stable" versions. Is there any reason or rule of
thumb for how different packages are published?
