At last week's eGov IG meeting [1], Richard Cyganiak gave a great
presentation on DERI's dcat [2] ontology for government data catalogs.
There was general agreement to continue work on it under the umbrella of
the IG and try to publish an IG Note [4] in a matter of weeks, so that
folks feel more comfortable using it for official data.

If this is something which you care about and to which you can
contribute, perhaps because you're working on data catalogs or open
government data from a Linked Data perspective, please consider joining
this task force.  We'll be having weekly telecons for a while.

You will need a W3C account which is available on request [3].  As per
the charter, participation in the egov IG is open to the public, but
there may be more paperwork to do later to officially join the group.
