[ckan-discuss] Installation options

Simon,

Thanks for all the info on this problem with installing the dependency
'boto' - all very useful but I'm afraid I can't see why this isn't
working. The later version 2.2.2 is definitely the one you're after -
I have it installed in my virtual environment fine, and I can't see
any problem with putting it into your main python install either. Most
odd.

You could try uninstalling it and reinstalling it again. To get some
more clues you could poke around in
/usr/lib/pymodules/python2.6/site-packages to see what version is
there (site-packages/boto/__init__.py has the version number). And you
could run this to see where the files it is referring to are:
python -c "import boto; print boto"

Maybe it's best to catch one of us on IRC to talk through it more
