[ckan-discuss] Fwd: Proposal: Migration of this list to new Google Groups list

Hi All,

I'm writing to propose that all CKAN user discussion migrate from this
list to a new google groups list at:

<https://groups.google.com/forum/?fromgroups#!forum/ckan-global-user-group>

The establishment of this new list dedicated to global CKAN user group
was something discussed at OKFestival and received strong support from
everyone. This list is currently being run collaboratively by Antonio
of data.gov.uk, Irina and myself from the Open Knowledge Foundation
and other members of the community.

ckan-discuss will likely be moth-balled (shut down but archived) at
some point over the next months.

In terms of the (approx) 4 types of discussion we have seen here their
future homes will be:

A) User discussion - will go to new google groups list

B) Dev / technical discussion - primarily on ckan-dev (though some
general items such as roadmap will likely be on the user list)

C) Errors / tech assistance - move to StackOverflow under the tag ckan
(or go on ckan-dev if not suitable for stackoverflow)

D) datahub discussion - may require a new dedicated list depending on
interest and demand

Comments and thoughts on this proposal are warmly welcome.
