[ckan-discuss] ckanext-pages

I did a full reinstall of our development server and it seems to have cleared up a number of problems. The ckanext-pages extension now shows the create page icon, and I am able to create pages. So far so good. However, it also has a very odd side effect: if I am logged into ckan as a sysadmin, edit the .ini file, and then restart httpd, all is well. However if I am not logged in, or open a new browser / session, I get an error rather than the ckan splash screen. The error is "This webpage has a redirect loop". The error logs have about 20 lines of:

Tue Nov 12 11:31:07 2013] [error] 2013-11-12 11:31:07,217 INFO [ckan.lib.base] /user/login render time 0.017 seconds
[Tue Nov 12 11:31:07 2013] [error] 2013-11-12 11:31:07,251 INFO [ckan.lib.base] /user/login render time 0.020 seconds
[Tue Nov 12 11:31:07 2013] [error] 2013-11-12 11:31:07,301 INFO [ckan.lib.base] /user/login render time 0.021 seconds

I suppose there is still a chance that my install is botched. But if this is anything anyone has seen before, I would love to be able to use the ckanext-pages extension.

Thanks,

Andrew

I don't get the link / image for editing. Knowing what to look for helps though. I will try to debug.

Thanks for your assistance.

Hello,
You can only edit pages if you are a sysadmin. There is a little link in the top bar (where your user name is) that looks like a paper with the corner folded. From there on in it should be pretty easy to work out what to do.

I installed this plugin (https://github.com/okfn/ckanext-pages) hoping to be able to add a few items to our menu (i.e. a help page). The extension seems to be working, as evidenced by

Being able to add "ckanext.pages.group_menu = False" to my .ini file and having that element removed.

But how do I go about adding new pages? The docs seem... a bit light.
