[CKAN-support] stack upgrade

Hi Guys
Could I please get your wisdom on what the best policy is for upgrading the software stack for CKAN. I'm particularly thinking of the main components: apache, postgresql, solr-jetty.

Apart from applying regular security patches, would it be advisable to upgrade these packages when there is a new minor/major release available?
