Coursera is offering a free online class in Computing for Data Analysis
that starts Sept. 24:

"This course is about learning the fundamental computing skills necessary
for effective data analysis. You will learn to program in R and to use R
for reading data, writing functions, making informative graphs, and
applying modern statistical methods."

It's being taught by Roger D. Peng, associate professor of Biostatistics at
the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and a co-editor of the
Simply Statistics blog http://simplystatistics.org/
