Hi Hanna,
About a month ago we did a D3.js hackathon in Buenos Aires (you can check
http://d3viz.hackdash.org to track the projects) where we merged about 60
people. It looks like could be very helpfull to deal with D3.js, to have a
kind of template designed to journalists being able to deal with tables,
and understand better the connection between datasets and the library it
self. It will be hard for journalists to write D3 from scratch, but very
helpful to have a kind of wizard for using different templates already
created. Something like, you have to put the data like this, and then
insert the data like that. If you can understand better the connection, a
lot of journalists will be able to deal with D3 even without understanding
anything from the language.
Cheers
