Is there any way to do improve the unsubscription process / usability of
this list?

Helle: instructions for unsubscribing are at the end if every email, incl.
yours. Did that not work?

At this point it seems it'd be easier to create a new list than to tolerate
all the "me too" ir unsubscribe help messages here.
