Holá Adrián,

concerning deaths at the Berlin Wall you should contact the „Gedenkstätte Berliner Mauer“ who did, as far as I know, a lot of research on that topic: http://www.berliner-mauer-gedenkstaette.de/de/forschungs-und-publikationsprojekte-247.html

Regards
Stefan

Betreff: [ddj] Help! Looking for data from 1961 to 1989 Berlin Wall

Hi everybody,

I am Adrián Blanco. I am working as an intern in http://lab.rtve.es/ . The ddj platform of the public broadcasting media in Spain. called "RTVE" http://www.rtve.es/

We are working on a ddj project about Berlin Wall due to its 25th anniversary. The idea is to obtain data related with Berlin Wall, the divided city of Berlin, East Germany and West Germany from 1961 to 1989. I have taken a look of Destatis adn BerlinDaten portals but I have not found so much data during these years (1961-1989). We have data about population and some about economic aspects, but we need more.

So, we ask for your advice if you have any idea or knowledge about where we can find some data related with these topics, and data that let us to compare in time (from 1961-1989) East and West Germany, and both Berlins.

Some data we are interested in:
-Wall crossing deaths: time, type and location. (1961-1989)
-Any data related with the proccess of reunification (Treuhandanstalt) (1989- ...) Data related with privatizations and so on.
-Price of essential food products (like bread, milk...) (1961-1989)
-Purchasing power or Salaries of both countries (DDR/BRD) (1961-1989)
-Populaton density of Democratic and Federal Berlin and Germany. (1961-1989)
-Birth and death rates of DDR and BRD, Democractic Berlin and Federal Berlin (1961-1989)
-Waiting time to buy a car or any other stuff in DDR.

So if you can help me or give some tips to find the data I am looking for I would be really grateful.

Thank you vey much for your attention.

All the best,

Adrián
