Not trying to down the idea, but I suspect that the topic is way too broad
from a StackExchange POV.
Dataviz questions can vary based on technologies that underpin them and
they will likely find quicker responses when usked under their respective
umbrellas. E.g there's SO for programming (be it whatever language of
choice) and there's a specialized GIS site. My question is: what would be -
excuse the dirty word - the USP of the site and would the questions asked
potentially miss a large part of the audience whom are very well placed to
answer these questions?

Having said all that, I now follow the proposal and keen to hear your
thoughts...
