Graphicacy <http://graphicacy.com/> is looking for *design interns* to help
create data-rich information graphics for online interactive applications,
visualization tools, installations, and large format posters. We have an
ongoing internship program and are looking year-round for qualified and
interested candidates, with the potential to become full time members of
our growing team.
Here at Graphicacy we describe what we do as "creative analytic design."
Our services include data visualization, interactive applications,
information graphics, data analysis, graphic design, motion graphics,
illustration, and seminars, for clients such as the Center for American
Progress, Dreamworks, and Scientific American Magazine. This internship is
ideal for someone looking to gain experience in visually communicating
complex ideas in dynamic and accessible ways. Examples of the kinds of

Required:
- Experience with design and the Adobe Creative Suite
- Interest in building beautiful and useful interactive data visualizations
- Ability to keep to deadlines
Bonus points:
- Knowledge of front-end development with HTML, CSS, JavaScript,
D3/jQuery/backbone/angular or other visualization tools
- Knowledge of statistical analysis (SQL, R or other statistical packages)
- Knowledge of UX/UI development
Our team is a diverse group with a mix of ages and backgrounds that include
political science, computer science, economics, advertising and PR, graphic
design, journalism, programming, software development and entrepreneurship.
We work in a stimulating environment at the WeWork Wonder Bread Factory in
the Shaw neighborhood of Washington, DC.
