[ECODP-dev] ODP - Release 00.07.50 - Second delivery - Rejected

Dear Bert,

We downloaded the second delivery of release 00.07.50 and tried to install it using alternatively script and manual instructions. None is working properly and both are generating crashes and errors.
Please find attached an updated version of the latest installation procedure you delivered with all the comments and notes we recorded during the installation (in track changes). This also include the logs and traces during the crash. This should help you investigating the source of the problem.

Dear,

we have updated the documentation around the installation of release 00.07.50 as upgrade of release 00.07.01.
Based on the feedback we received, our analsyis is the following
    * the documentation specified the application of the upgrade by the execution of a script.
      This hides the individual actions which are needed for the upgrade. To enable PO sys admin to get a clearer understanding of the individual steps the
      steps are being documented in the updated installation manual.
      We advice that the PO sys admin takes a look at the manual steps so that we ensure knowledge transfer.

    * The patching script failed at the first real patching action: namely the installation the new video in Drupal.
       The process stopped because the  by MD5 hash checks it was discovered that the new video was exactly the same as the one currently present in the
       test server. This is odd, but can possibly be explained by the fact that for evaluation by PO the video was already deployed to evaluate it.

We tried to install the release (upgrade from 00.07.01 to 00.07.50) but it crashed. The delivery is then rejected.

Thanks for this delivery.

We’re going to install it on out test env BUT please note there are again several points which are not aligned with the formal SVN delivery management procedure OP defined and was communicated to you months ago. I urge you again to read it carefully (latest version attached again to this email for recall), in order to better prepare the next delivery (chapter 4.1 for ex)

Here the preliminary comments on the deliverables:

>  The delivery does not include any delivery note to be signed by both parties and recording the formal delivery of the software

>  The delivery does not mention any indication to any SVN revision number to use for the installation

>  The description recorded into SVN for the delivered ZIP package mentions “make temp version of the delivery 00.07.50” while I suppose this is the final package (not “temp”) – Please confirm

>  The delivered ZIP package is labelled “delivery_00.07.50_FULL.zip” while is looks like a simple path (only contains few files) – Please confirm

>  The delivered ZIP package does not include any installation documentation. Every delivery package should be a bundle including all elements representing the actual delivery – Meaning a snapshot of all the necessary documentation from (working) trunk versions

>  The delivered ZIP package does not include any information related to the testing conducted by TenForce prior to the delivery

>  The updates of related the documentation (User manual, Operational manual…) are not included in the delivered ZIP package (nor in the /Delivered/Documentation)

For the next delivery, if we still face such difficulties for identifying exactly what to take as deliverables and what exactly to install, the delivery will be formally rejected even before any installation step.

Now, we will proceed further with the installation of this 00.07.50 patch and let you know.
