Dear Bastiaan,

As agreed last week and following the review of your last version of the “Strategy for High Performances/Scalability Solution”, please find attached:

Ø  An updated version of the document with OP comments in track changes

--> “ODP EU Performance - Strategy for High Scalability Solution v10_Comments_OPComments.doc”

Ø  A proposal for a split between TenForce and OP of the responsibility of the architecture’s components

--> “ODP - 2013-01-25 - Architecture components - Responsibilities Transfer.xlsx”

Ø  The KPI for the performance requirements

--> “ODP - HSS - KPI requirements.docx”

Ø  A detailled description of the current platform hosting ODP (both hardware & software)

--> “ODP_Hardware_Software_Requirements_3 0.xlsx”

Ø  A proposal for phasing the implementation of the solution, taking also into account the need to (1) The setup and installation of ODP components still to be improved to have a clean baseline (2) implement web design quick wins and (3) ensuring the maintenance and bug fixing of the current version of the ODP and (4) the big OPEN DATA event in April 2013 where CONNECT requires to announce publicaly the availability of the portal.

Additionnaly to the comments documented in the reviewed document (see track changes), please also note that:

Ø  We propose to rename the document from “Strategy for High Performances Solution” to “Strategy for High Scalability Solution (HSS)”.

Ø  Usage of VIRTUOSO clustering solution should be evaluated with more attention. The project requires that all the components used for developing the ODP have to be open-source and available freely for re-use. Using a non licence-free version of VIRTUOSO is not a problem as such as long as the source code developped for the customization remains compliant with the free version of VIRTUOSO

Ø  The proposed approach does not address at all the problematic of the performance testing. There is nothing describing the strategy, approach and scenario your foresee to ensure the final solution to be performant enough according to the defined KPIs.

Thanks to review, integrate our comments and come back to us with a in a new version of the document, still to be finalized and validated by both sides by 01/02/2013.

PS: I will propose a workshop later this week for discussing this topic and finalizing the roadmap.
