A bientôt,
Samuel A.

pleased to announce the Open
Development Toolkit<https://sendy.okfn.org/l/SNFQaUMu1z027Icf290p6A/0892D93892p8YfPTvZkSRkhPWw/zq73WSpJd83ti3i7637DglDg>.
The Toolkit is a hub for tools and training materials around development
data, focusing on the needs of civil society and journalists in low-income
countries. The Toolkit will be focusing on aid data to begin with,
including creating an Aid Curriculum for School of Data.
The Open Development Toolkit is just getting started, and its creators want
to hear about what training needs exist and what funding opportunities are
available. Read more about the Toolkit launch on the

Escola de Dados: São Paolo study group
Escola de Dados, School of Data's Brazilian chapter, is organizing a study
group in São Paulo<https://sendy.okfn.org/l/SNFQaUMu1z027Icf290p6A/VMqjb892z7633YvLC2lYqdkdDw/zq73WSpJd83ti3i7637DglDg>,

The idea is to use
MITx<https://sendy.okfn.org/l/SNFQaUMu1z027Icf290p6A/89260VhgW6oL0T8927RLpVp7ug/zq73WSpJd83ti3i7637DglDg>'s
Introduction to Computer Science and
Programming<https://sendy.okfn.org/l/SNFQaUMu1z027Icf290p6A/hM9psw763w3Bvizma9whvjoQ/zq73WSpJd83ti3i7637DglDg>as
a background course to gather together anyone who's interested in
learning how to transform real-world problems into issues that can be
solved by a computer program.
Escola de Dados will organize a meeting per week during the 12-week course
to help people with the classes and assignments, and they will document
everything. The course starts in nine days, and 40 people in São Paulo have
expressed their interest. Others are grouping themselves independently in
Porto Alegre, Rio de Janeiro, Campo Grande, and the Northeast part of
Brazil. We hope those people can also engage in future data expeditions
Escola de Dados is going to organize in 2014 and form a solid group of
people willing to learn, teach, and *make*!

L'Ecole des Données: new URL
The French localisation of School of Data, L'Ecole des Données, now has a
proper URL for its website,
ecoledesdonnees.org<https://sendy.okfn.org/l/SNFQaUMu1z027Icf290p6A/W4DJMPw97631OX42sl5amtog/zq73WSpJd83ti3i7637DglDg>
.
The website is still in its beta version, but the L'Ecole des Données team
is actively preparing its launch, which is scheduled for Open Data Day on
February 22. Infographics and images are being created by design students
to illustrate the contents of L'Ecole des Données. They will be shared with
the School of Data community for reuse.
