Hi all,

Today I met up in Copenhagen with Brigitte Alfter (<http://wobbing.eu>wobbing.eu<http://wobbing.eu>) and Nils Mulvad (<http://www.kaasogmulvad.dk/>http://www.kaasogmulvad.dk/), both active data journalists.
May 5-7th they are organizing a data journalists meet-up in Brussels.

I plan to go there for one of those three days. Brigitte will be guest blogging on <http://epsiplatform.eu> epsiplatform.eu<http://epsiplatform.eu> on data journalism issues.

They are still seeking financial support to bring journalists from Eastern Europe to this event, and they asked me if <http://epsiplatform.eu> epsiplatform.eu<http://epsiplatform.eu> is willing to spend a bit of money on that.
Given that 1) we have been asked by the Commission to explicitly make sure we make data journalists more visible, and engage with them 2) we have some seed money to help 8 events be successful (total budget 4000 Euro), I would be in favor of giving them a couple of hundred Euro to be able to bring some eastern European journalist who cannot pay his/her own way.

Of course we need permission for it from Juan Pelegrin as well. But I wanted to hear your thoughts if you are ok with putting this question to Juan.
What do you think?

best,

Ton
