Dear Juan,

Hope you had a good weekend. Here is a list of possible topic reports for the coming months. I revised it over the weekend in order to filter out topics that wouldn't be enough into your area's of interest (as per your remarks in the thirsday meeting).

1. A comparison on the directive review of 2008, with the directive review of 2010.

You have already accepted this topic. We hope to publish it early to mid. april

2. A report about the relationship between access to government information as a fundamental right and re-use.
Katleen spoke about this. It is not similar to anything done by LAPSI so far.

3. State of Play about a country we hardly hear anything about (i.e. Eastern European countries, Ireland, Belgium, Portugal)
Although this has been done before, the continued series of state-of-play reports deserves some continuation.

4. OGD/re-use and privacy issues – the relationship between the PSI directive and the directive on the processing of personal data.

5. Impact of PSI on government service models. Where does Open Data significantly reduce cost in government processes? Finding some case-studies or building a business case.

6. Datajournalism as a driving force of PSI/reuse. Identifying centres of data journalism (other then the ever present Guardian).

7. Copyright & PSI. Review of which member states have copyright exemptions for (certain kinds of) government documents/datasets.

8. An analysis of the data gathered within the narrative database.

This is a topic due for end of this year, maybe start of next year.

9. The impact of public-private partnerships on PSI (since private entities don't necessarily have an interest in making collected data available for reuse)

10. Case studies: PSI impact on public-private partnerships (where is PSI a prerequisite for public-private partnerships, are there situations in which data only becomes valuable after being combined with private data).

Hope to hear your thoughts on this list.

Kind regards,
Tom Kronenburg
