Nevertheless, you need a digital certificate to get this information.

Hi Javier,
You are right wrt IGN and Met. As for the Spanish Cadaster, I am including a
colleague of mine, Luis Vilches, in the conversation (Cced), who may have a
better idea than me.

Oscar
Linkeddata.es site has access to open data form the National Geo and Meteo
services.
Am I right that the National Geo Institute sells paper materials (books,
maps, photos) but no extra services like in UK Ordnance Survey?
The Meteo Service also appears totally open (just attribution). I couldn't
find any commercial activities, like custom forecasts.
Not sure if you are the right person to answer, do you know how it works
with the Spanish Cadaster?
If you go to http://www.sedecatastro.gob.es/OVCInicio.aspx
It appears to have 3 access levels, you can access basic info directly, or
you can get more services with a generic electronic ID, or you could also
register with the site. All services look free, but are they releasing raw
underlying data anywhere?
Thanks, Javier

Dear Oscar
Thanks for the pointer. I guess we get lots of snippets of news and projects
and have this perennial search for the catalogue of catalogues and projects,
as things move so fast.
Gracias y un saludo, Javier

Dear Javier,
I am surprised that you do not know these initiatives in Spain, since we
have been publicizing them quite often.
There is Linked Open Data available for maps/geodata and weather information
at:
http://geo.linkeddata.es/
http://aemet.linkeddata.es/
They are all under open data licenses, and more information will be added in
the future.
Oscar
PS: Please note that because of server maintenance during this weekend both
services will be down, but this is really occasional.

Dear all
we are in a similar situation here, trying to build a response to a key
government consultation. We recently saw a very uplifting email about the
Dutch opening the cadastre and satellite images.
We need similar examples about:
- maps / geodata
- weather
- land registry / cadaster
many thanks, Javier Ruiz

Dear colleagues,
I am sorry for any cross postings.
I am trying to get the picture of the (potential) impact of Open Data on
business registers held by public sector bodies (like for instance the Dutch
Chamber of Commerce in my country, the Netherlands). Are you aware of any
initiatives where such registers are being opened up for re-use against low
or zero costs under liberal licensing schemes? Do you know the stories
behind it?
I would very much appreciate your input.
Kind regards,
Marc de Vries
