hi all,

I was at the PSI Group meeting at the European Commission, where national
representatives discuss the impact and issues of the PSI Directive.

The following announcements were made there:

Portugal is ready to launch a national data portal with several thousands of
data sets at the start. Pending final political approval it will be launched
in the coming weeks. The portal is already up and running and fully
functional.

Spain announced a full national data portal by end of October

France said data.gouv.fr will indeed be online by December

The Netherlands said their national data portal will be properly launched
tomorrow, at the PICNIC conference in Amsterdam. data.overheid.nl has been
in beta since January.

Germany mentoined geolizenz.org which aims to create unified licenses for
geo data held by PSBs

There was a lot of interesting material on the economic impact of open data,
which I will digest a bit before trying to summarize it. Will have a few key
slides in pictures up on flickr.com/epsiplatform later today or tomorrow.

best,

Ton
