[foundation-board] Face to face Board meeting this Thursday

Dear Board members

Is everybody still on for the face-to-face Board meeting this
Thursday? Please can you RSVP, as I've had pretty much radio silence
since we landed on the 12th as a date last week.

If all is still going to plan, I think it's time we started building
an agenda. I also suggest that we try and roll in agenda items for our
regular 17 August board meeting into this meeting so we can all take
that Tuesday evening off. Let me know if you're in favour.

It's been suggested that the meeting start at 11am.

Rufus plans to bring a set of working management accounts to the
meeting. My feeling is that we should set aside at least an hour to go
over these, and I'd certainly benefit from either seeing them in
advance or some sort of presentation from Rufus/Martin on the day (or
preferably, both).

I think it would also be good to go through OKF's commitments for
2010-2011 and make sure the organisation has the resources it needs to
meet them.

Finally, I'd like to have a discussion about governance. I'm acutely
aware that although the Board takes ultimate responsibility for the
financial and legal health of the organisation, it's very unclear to
whom we delegate that responsibility in the day-to-day and, therefore,
from whom we seek reports and, ultimately, accountability at our
quarterly board meetings.

This is already a lot to get through, so please do let me know if you
think I'm jumping the gun with any of these suggestions, and please
come forward with suggestions of your own.
