Hi All,
I would like formally to nominate Tim Hubbard to join the board. As
this requires a board vote and this will be on list it requires full
participation. Reply to this email in the affirmative would count as a
positive vote (and vice-versa).
Note that list emails are archived so if you have something to say
that you would not want recorded (for, say, Tim to see if he does
join) please send that off-list to board members.
Regards,
Rufus
## Background
There has been previous discussion, at least one-to-one of asking Tim
Hubbard (currently a member of the Advisory Board) to join the main
board. I have sounded Tim out on this and he would be interested.
Tim bio: http://www.sanger.ac.uk/research/faculty/thubbard/
Tim is the Board of Management representative for Bioinformatics. He
leads the Vertebrate Genome Analysis Project, which generates and
presents core vertebrate genome annotation and maintains the reference
genome sequences.
Personal note: Tim himself has extensive background in related
(academic) sector that includes significant managerial
responsibilities as well as experience on relevant non-profit boards
such as KEI and I think he would make an excellent addition to the
board.
