What Makes a Design Seem Intuitive?
Presented by Christine Perfetti, User Interface Engineering (UIE)
Thursday, July 13th, 2006, 6:30 - 8:30 pm
Social hour hosted by UIE at a nearby restaurant: 9:00pm - ?

Everyone wants an "intuitive" interface: the users, the designers, and
the content publishers. But building them is hard. User Interface
Engineering's recent research has given insight into why it's hard and
how to get past major obstacles.

In this talk, UIE's Christine Perfetti will show:
- How to teach users concepts without their even realizing it
- How some designers have managed to make simple concepts complex
- Examples of popular web sites that have made complex topics intuitive
