[kforge-user] Re: Missing MoinMoin Service

Alright I think I got it.

I modified the /etc/moin config files to point to a relative data_dir ('./data/') and to an absolute underlay_dir ('/usr/share/moin/underlay'). Then it was complaining about a missing dictionary file ==> 'apt-get install
  wamerican-large' fixed this.

This makes it work for certain, but it looks like crap and my error logs are filling up quickly. Upon further inspection I found that moin was expecting a wiki directory under the projects folder. I symlinked wiki to /usr/share/moin/htdocs and suddenly everything looks much nicer now.

This was a pain and it took a long time for me to figure out.
I think it would be a very good idea to add this info to the documentation.

Also, it might be a lot of work, but some sort of package with dependency management would be awesome for this project (I'm thinking a .deb or possibly an .rpm). I know this would take some work, but it would save users a huge amount of time and it would probably save you time as well (so you wouldn't have to answer so many silly question from people like me :-)

As my contribution to this project I'd like to try and create at least a .deb package. I have never done such a thing, but I think it is the most useful thing I might be able to contribute. My question then is - where should I submit the package once it is done and tested? Will you host it along with the base kforge package?

Thanks,

Ty

Subject: Re: Missing MoinMoin Service

On a whim, I just tried adding the service from the admin page and it worked?
Is this is default behavior for all plugins? The trac and svn plugins were initialized automatically.

Anyways, something is not quite right with the moin setup (perhaps because I did it incorrectly).
After creating a moin service for my test project I get the following error when I try to visit the wiki:

data_dir "/org/mywiki/data" does not exists, or has incorrect ownership or
permissions.

Make sure the directory and the subdirectory pages are owned by the web
server and are readable, writable and executable by the web server user
and group.

It is recommended to use absolute paths and not relative paths. Check
also the spelling of the directory name.

I looked in /etc/moin and found (2) config files, but again, I'm hesitant to mess with the config because I don't know what kforge wants / needs?

It creates the structure in the project_data directory just fine, but after that I am lost.

Subject: Missing MoinMoin Service

This may in fact be my last question, hopefully its an easy one.

I'm not seeing the moinmoin service in my list of available services?
I'm running Debian 3.1 with the python2.4-moinmoin + moinmoin-common packages installed.
I've got my path set correctly in kforge.conf to /usr/share/moin ==> where the htdocs dir is.

Any advice
 would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for all the help!
