[odc-discuss] Confusion about DbCL

Hi,

The ODbL recommends using a separate license for the database contents,
the "How to Apply" section[1] suggests using the "Database Contents
License"[2] (DbCL).

The link to the "Plain Text" of the license links to the ADC-By license
text[3], which does not correspond to the DbCL. Is there a text version
available for the DbCL?

Second, I'm curious if anyone is aware of actual usage of the DbCL. It's
not in the SPDX license list[4], which makes me slightly wary of using
it. Is there a reason to prefer the DbCL over something like CC BY-SA,
apart from it being shorter?

2. http://opendatacommons.org/licenses/dbcl/1.0/
3. https://opendatacommons.org/files/2018/02/odc_by_1.0_public_text.txt
4. https://spdx.org/licenses/

Thanks.
