Angus, Start

This article makes the case I am advocating quite clearly

Openness requires transparency

I may amplify that argument with some follow ups paper when I get the chance

Possibly a good discussion to have over a relaxed summer long drink should
anyone be included to philosophize

Without bottom up initiative/drive I fear any group will become the passive
recipient of decisions
made elsewhere (and not quite clearly by whom, when and how etc) in relation
to when we meet, what we discuss,
how we operate, which projects we collaborate on etc etc.

To briefy answe Phil's point:

*I really enjoyed the first one and would be willing to help organise others
(especially one focussed on education). But it only makes sense to me if it
is part of OKF.*

Of course we 'are' part of OKF, it is just not clear
'what part' and 'what kind of part' (probably due to the non transparent
information on OK website), hence the discussion, to make sure whatever OKS
is, we are all clear about it, and progress our work accordingly.

BTW
Jo sent a quick email to say she is mostly off the internet for another week
or so, and she ll join the discussion as soon as she can

best
