I was received by David Robertson at Informatics today, (it turns out he is
the head of school for 3 years) and had the chance to
discuss in principle the possible synergy between the omonym software
project I posted about
a while back

and the OK project

the bottom line is that their s/ware is a p2p platform that demonstrates
that a p2p distributed model works

he says it is os, gpl licensed, downloadable and it works with a specific
platform, there should be enough documentation and examples on the site

somehow this contrasts with the LOD model, which is all web based, and which
I personally prefer

I dont think I ll explore much down this route for the moment, but the geeks
among you with spare time in hand may be inclined could find out
if there may be any advantage in using a p2p platform over LOD

I ll post to this list the details of a forthcoming LOD meetup that Bill is
organising (cc other list)

I have a plan for the pilot but not too sure whats the lightest route to
implemenetation
Will seek feedback on such occasion
