Hi Ewan,
Thanks for this.
How are things in Edinburgh?
Are you planning any more events in the near future?
Skyscanner's events team wants to know what's going on in the local tech scene and if there is anything we can help with.
I'm coming back to Edinburgh for two weeks starting on Wednesday if you want to catch up :-)
Cheers,
Iain Elder

Subject: [ok-scotland] Open Knowledge Discussion Forum
Hi everyone,
This is just to let you all know about the relatively new Open Knowledge Discussion Forum at https://discuss.okfn.org
There is an increasing amount of interesting material being posted and discussed on the Forum, so it's well worth exploring. It’s also a promising alternative to to endless emails! You will need to set up an account to login to the Forum.
If there is enough interest, we could look into setting up a Scotland-specific topic area on the Forum — let me know.
I’m appending a digest to give you a flavour of the discussion topics.
Regards
Ewan

Open Government Data - where to next?
Australia
In a recent discussion with David Read within the CKAN dev email list I put down some thoughts in relation to something I say quite often. For those who don't know what CKAN is, it is the open source project that is used to support open data portals such as data.gov.au and many others in Australia and around the world. Anyhoo, I made comments about how I recognise machines as the primary users for CKAN, custodians the secondary and end users are tertiary.
