PUBLIC DOMAIN WORKS JOINS THE OPEN LIBRARY
==========================================
Public Domain Works, an open registry of artistic works in the public
domain, is going to join up with the Open Library.
The project, which is a joint initiative of the Open Knowledge
Foundation, the Open Rights Group and Free Culture UK, has data
representing thousands of artists and works. This data will be uploaded
to the Open Library, and will be accessible via web services which will
show which works are out of copyright in different jurisdictions.

CKAN IS GROWING - OVER 100 PACKAGES SO FAR
==========================================
The Comprehensive Knowledge Archive Network (CKAN) is growing steadily
thanks to user contributions. The registry now has over 100 open
knowledge packages - from geodata to educational materials. The spam
that we're starting to get is a sure sign we're getting noticed!
If you come across or know of an open knowledge package that isn't
listed, please consider registering it at CKAN...

TALK AT SCL'S LAW 2.0
=====================
Rufus Pollock, Executive Director of the Open Knowledge Foundation, gave
a talk at the the Society for Computers and Law's 'Law 2.0' event
entitled 'Openness, Web 2.0 and the Ethic of Sharing'.
The talk takes a broad-ranging and historical look at the economic and
social benefits of open knowledge.
