Dear OKFNau Community,
I have a project requiring data visualisation and wondered if someone on this list (kindly suggested by Fiona Tweedie) might be able to help us out?

I working on a report on health effects
of coal in the Hunter Valley and one of
the accompaniments to the report we are hoping to develop is a
data visualization of air pollution from all sources eg coal mines,
coal fired power stations, coal trains, and if possible to include projections based on proposed new
projects.

I am looking for someone who may have skills and expertise or interest to offer advice about how we
might do this ie what meteorological and air pollution data we might need, how do we go about it, and who might be able to do it.

An example of a similar (larger) project in India can be
seen here: http://www.urbanemissions.info/india-power-plants

For this report they used (freely available) models WRF
for meteorology and CAMx for dispersion, and their meteorological data came
from NCEP.

I'm guessing we would need:

Meterological data from NSW?

Inventory of emissions and locations in NSW?

Someone to do the modeling exercises, process the data and
make the maps?

I would pleased to hear from anyone who might like to be involved in this innovative project and can offer advice about the best way to go about it.
Kind regards,

Fiona
Ps I'm based in Melbourne
