[@OKau] Move from the mailing list to the new OK Forum?

Can you start new topics via email on Discourse?

Can one easily receive all OKau discussions in email automatically?

As one of those international people who from time to time does some global
outreach work, the question in my mind is whether I will still be able to
reach folks in a place where I can reliably generate a response. I
understand that no one has proposed turning this list off technically.

CfA embraced Slack for their core and they became hyper connected among
those close to the center while their huge Brigade list has gone pretty
quiet perhaps giving the mistaken sense that momentum with local Brigades
has slowed. I don't really know.

For me, the key question is where will people take the time to share. With
sharing content, the sense of community can die.

I created the Open Government and Civic Technology Facebook Group to create
a sharing space even if I do not trust Facebook to deliver content to most
of the group members on a regular basis. The key with that space is that
people actually feed it every day with relevant content.

Anyway, just thought I'd add to the conversation ... which I noticed while
traveling in that Lists folder I check too rarely but enjoy having in my
personal Gmail search. :-)
