[@OKau] How can we fund important Open Source projects?

Open source projects maintained by OKI do not rely on volunteer coders to continue, they rely on public use and interest.

CKAN started at OKI, but CKAN now operates under the CKAN Association (http://ckan.org/about/association/ <http://ckan.org/about/association/>). There are many stakeholders in CKAN beyond OKI.

The context for Steven's initiative (if I can be so bold as to speak on it) is not about project *continuation* at all, but is about faster implementation of new features and enhancements to the platform.

Best,

Paul
